Paintings inspired by Emile Nolde

Emil Nolde (1867 - 1956) is one of my favorite German painters. His use and combination of strong expressive colours appears to me unique. He lived and worked in the far north of Germany near the Danish border in a little village named Seebüll. In winter times indeed he come to Berlin to sell his paintings and to enjoy Berlin's diverting cultural life of the 20's. Later his paintings were classified as degenerated art by Nazis and he withdrew to Seebüll where he worked in secrecy. I had the pleasure to enjoy some exquisite Nolde expositions in Germany's capital which inspired me to the following work:
