Paintings inspired by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner

Kirchner (1880 - 1938) was a German expressionist and a founder of the artist group "Die Brücke" (The Bridge)in Dresden in 1905. Some of the most important German expressionists like Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and Emile Nolde joined this group. Six years later Kirchner as well as the other Brücke artists moved to Berlin where you can still visit the Brücke museum. His street and coffee bar scenes from Berlin with frosty elegant ladies are funny, fascinating and critical as well. The portraits from his favorite models Fränzi and Gerda are indeed creating a warm appearance.

Hint: Not far from the Brücke museum you can find an excellent coffee shop named "Wiener Conditorei Caffeehaus am Roseneck" with a large choice of yummy cakes. If you are quite attentive you can see there some local celebrities too.
